MARES
We have limited availability for client donor mare agistment at Helga Riedemann Equestrian, tailored for comprehensive embryo transfer programs. For Elite competition performance mares, which wish to continue training eg. Showjumping/Treadmill, there is the option to agist with Riverton Performance Horses closer to Sydney.
Embryo recovery success rates naturally improve because donor mares experience zero travel stress and remain calmer when residing on-site in a familiar, stable environment. Depending on the needs of the mare and client preference, we offer both group paddocks and private paddocks to ensure complete comfort. Our professional management ensures your donor mares receive the precise daily oversight, veterinary access, and nutritional care required for optimal reproductive cycles. In addition to expert donor care, we maintain an established on-site recipient mare herd to streamline your breeding goals from insemination through to confirmed pregnancy.
To support the next stages of your breeding program, we can seamlessly arrange ongoing foal agistment through our collaborating on-site facility, Helga Riedemann Equestrian / Riedemann Performance Horses, located in Bundanoon. This integrated approach ensures both mares and growing foals experience professional, continuous care within a nurturing environment.
Pre-Purchase Examination
A Pre-Purchase Examination (PPE) provides buyers, bloodstock agents, and syndicates with an objective, rigorous, and data-informed assessment of an equine athlete’s physical integrity, soundness, and overall suitability. Drawing on extensive clinical experience across elite international thoroughbred vetting, sports horse performance, and reproductive stud medicine, our examinations evaluate both immediate athletic potential and long-term risk factors.
We approach every examination through a convergence lens — integrating hands-on clinical diagnostic protocols with advanced imaging and biomechanical analysis. This ensures you receive a transparent, clear-sighted evaluation to make confident, fully informed decisions before acquiring high-value racing, performance, or breeding stock.
Key Components of Our Examination:
Comprehensive 5-Stage Clinical Evaluation: Systematic physical examination covering cardiovascular, respiratory, ophthalmic, and neurological systems at rest, followed by dynamic ridden or hand-led exercise to evaluate physiological recovery and subtle respiratory or lameness indicators.

International Vetting & Compliance: Thorough presale vetting, blood sampling for laboratory storage or medication screening, and export certification compliant with major international auction house standards and global transport frameworks.
Soundness & Lameness Consulting Services
Maintaining optimal performance soundness through a horses lifetime, avoiding and addressing Lameness and poor performance issues require a proactive, systematic, precise clinical approach to best understand the various musculoskeletal pain-points (relative weaknesses/ vulnerability/ inflammation and progressive loading pathologies) underlying source of discomfort or relative bio-mechanical restriction &/or limitations specific to that horse, conformation, and purpose. Combining a wealth of experience consulting for leading performance horses of the broadest type and discipline often together with other leaders in this discipline in UK/ FR & Aust. in both stable/ farm and referral settings, as well as working closely with leading performance horse producers/ trainers & riders over over many years has allowed for efficient appraisal and highly rewarding, well risk-assessed/ understood proactive management, treatment and prophylactic repertoire that is supported by routine and advanced diagnostic imaging as required. Our holistic approach integrates understanding of both dynamic and static limb loading, optimal farriery and hoof balance, husbandry, work load, surfaces, movement, and training demands supporting soundness/ lameness evaluations that go beyond typical band-aid options managing symptoms to target the root cause of movement dysfunction and avoid progressive musculoskeletal pathology.
Through our Convergence Approach, we bridge clinical veterinary imaging with expert corrective farriery metrics and training intelligence. By assessing the whole horse — from hoof balance to spinal and joint dynamics — we deliver tailored diagnostic and treatment plans that rehabilitate injuries, restore optimal movement, and safeguard long-term athletic longevity.
Key Diagnostic & Treatment Capabilities:
Comprehensive Gait & Biomechanical Analysis: Systematic evaluation of movement on hard and soft surfaces, straight lines, and lunging, complemented by ridden assessments where appropriate to pinpoint subtle gait asymmetrical changes.
Diagnostic Nerve & Joint Blocks: Precise diagnostic anaesthesia to systematically isolate the exact anatomical location causing pain or gait alterations.
High-Definition Diagnostic Imaging: On-site digital radiography (X-rays) to evaluate bony structures, joint health, and foot axis alignment, alongside high-resolution ultrasonography for tendon, ligament, and soft-tissue injury mapping.
Integrated Podiatry & Farriery Solutions: Direct collaboration with farriers to align veterinary diagnostic findings straight to the foot, applying precise corrective trimming and therapeutic shoeing to relieve mechanical stress.
Targeted Regenerative & Joint Therapies: Tailored treatment protocols — including intra-articular therapies, regenerative medicine options, and localized shock-wave/rehabilitative care — to accelerate healing and support safe return to performance
Podiatry
The hoof is the fundamental foundation of equine soundness and performance. Addressing mechanical imbalances, foot pain, and subtle structural changes requires a collaborative, objective approach that bridges veterinary clinical science directly with applied farriery.
Through our Convergence Approach, we connect advanced digital imaging and internal anatomical diagnostics with corrective farriery metrics and training intelligence. By measuring and evaluating the foot as a dynamic, load-bearing system, we deliver custom therapeutic plans that relieve mechanical strain, restore optimal balance, and protect long-term athletic durability.

Integrated Farrier Collaboration: Direct, on-the-floor teamwork with your primary farrier, sharing exact anatomical measurements and diagnostic images to guide precision trimming, shoeing modifications, and structural corrections.
Management of Complex Hoof Conditions: Specialized clinical and therapeutic support for laminitis (founder), navicular syndrome, chronic heel pain, pedal osteitis, white line disease, and deep-seated hoof wall defects.
Therapeutic Shoeing & Biomechanical Prescription: Designing custom shoeing packages, impression materials, modern adhesive restorations, and modified breakover mechanics to reduce stress on vulnerable tendons, ligaments, and joints.
Conformation & Developmental Podiatry: Biomechanical evaluation and early intervention strategies for growing foals and young stock, addressing angular and flexural limb deformities before they impact long-term soundness.
